I am going to purchase a new Harley Davidson this weekend, but I can not decide which one. I have narrowed it down to either a Deuce or a Lowrider and I have ridden them both. I like the slight rumble, speedometer and tachometer on the Lowrider, but I also like the smooth ride and forward controls on the Deuce. I am 6'2 and one salesman suggested that I would be more comfortable on a Deuce, but the younger salesman, says he would take a Dyna anyday. Price really isnt an issue and the Lowrider does have highway pegs. I know that come this Saturday I'll be riding something. Any thoughts or opinions?

Man, tough one. If cost is no object, BOTH! Really though, if your not sure, maybe you can ride them again. It took me a while to decide on what model suited me. No matter what you pick you will be happy-but wonder what if......... Good luck man!
Just an opinion, but I prefer the handling, ride and rubber mounting of the Dynas. This is not to take away from the Softails, my wife rides a Heritage, and she loves it. This is just my preference.
I'll have to agree that the decision is sometimes harder when a person is drawn between two rides where each has an advantage over the other. Maybe more looking at the two rides from different angles and another ride would help the decision. One idea that I have used when I'm not sure what I want, is I ask my wife to take a look with me. She has a knack for seeing things from a different angle than I do. A lot of times, it has helped me and I've come away a happy camper. Hope this helps you out a little.

Thank you all for the responses, they have been very helpful. I am going to take another ride on both bikes and take my wife with me. It is too bad that I can't afford both, but I am sure that no matter what choice I make i'll be happy. When I get the bike i'll post pictures in the new member forum.

I purchased a Low Ryder because handling, low center of gravity, and center pegs as I am an Old Dirt Ryder. But now I am going to install forward controls if not this weekend then next. The highway pegs are great for practice but if I would have had forward pegs from the begining, I would have dropped it at least three times. It all depends on what you are used to and what you think looks good. If you are brand new to biking, you will have to get used to your choice anyway. Bye the bye you can have front controls installed as an option on your Dyna.

Couldn't agree more. Do the forward controls, and leave the mid foot pegs.(Folded up when you don't need them). I have found that any extra places to put your feet are a blessing on long trips. I sometimes even use the rear pegs for short periods of time on long straight roads.
