In honor of Armed Forces Day and to show support for all of our troops, Battlefield Harley-Davidson of Gettysburg will be hosting the Second annual Support Our Troops Day on Saturday, May 17th from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. The program will begin at 1pm, when the Color Guard Mason-Dixon Chapter of ABATE arrives. Fred Snyder, from WGET will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. The Littlestown VFW Color Guard will present the flag, and Melinda Warren Elgart will Sing the National Anthem. Reverend Jim “Pappy” Strouse will lead us in the Lord’s Prayer and say a blessing for our troops. There will be presentations by numer ous Veterans Groups, live music by Phipps and Phriends, and Frontier Barbecue will be serving their delicious barbecue, for purchase, all day. The U.S. Military Veterans Motorcycle Club will be bringing sol diers from Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval Hospital to spend the afternoon. They have a close association with these soldiers because their members visit with these recovering heroes EVERY day. In addition to the entertainment, food and presentations, complimentary “Support Our Troops May 17, 2008” pins will be given out until they’re all gone Cheryl Hankey at the Pike Restaurant has offered to extend a 10% discount to any one that comes to the Pike with the com memorative “Support Our Troops” pin. All of the donations will be given to the U.S. Military Veterans Motorcycle Club to purchase specific items for recovering soldiers at Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval
