Hi,
I will be in the Carolina's in august with the wife and kid possibly looking to make a move.
While i'm there scoping things out for homes and work i need something to do with the family.
Are there any big attractions or things of that nature like water parks or amusement parks worth looking at.
I will be starting in Rock Hill S Carolina and head into the Charlotte area of N Carolina.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

Wish I could help Dave, the Outer Banks are my second home but the Charlotte area and any S.C. are outside of Hilton Head are places I'm not familiar with.

Hey Kimbo,
Hell yeah, whats a vacation without checkin out some bikes !!
I know the kid would love it too.
Besides, if i wind up moving to that area it wouldn't hurt to know where the local HD shop is...

Besides the aforementioned Carowinds, and various HD dealers..... check out
http://www.carolinamcevents.com/for events and rides in the areas you're traveling through.

Morrow Mountain is just north and east of Charlotte... pretty nice ride, Lake Lure is just south and west... and of course the Blue Ridge Parkway is nearby.... plenty of good riding.... if you want, and plenty of other stuff, so you can rest.... all a matter of your wants , that day

Hey Dave, I live in Rock Hill and it's a pretty laid back type of town. Not to big and not to small. I just moved up here from Florida during Thanksgiving and have enjoyed it ever since. The riding is so much better here, there are real hills! Any way, if your looking to buy, I would suggest SC and not NC. NC has more taxes and overall just more expensive to live. As soon as my house sells in FL, I will buy in the Rock Hill area.Just my 2 cents!

There is a ton of stuff to do in the Charlotte area, but here is one that is unique....they recently opened the US National Whitewater Center just south of the airport off I-85. Open to the public, it is an artificial whitewater river. In addition to whitewater kayaking, they also have rock climbing and mountain biking trails. I believe it also the home of the olympic kayaking team. Here's a link :

Come to the Hickory/Statesville area just north of Charlotte....your an hour away from all the good stuff Charlotte can offer, an hour away from the Blue Ridge and the mountains, and the traffic, housing, riding, schools, etc etc etc is much better!!!!!!!!:D E-mail me if I can help.
