I went to the gun shop/range today to buy a .40 SW auto. I tried a Taurus Millenium Pro, Kahr CW40, Springfield XD Service Model, and a Glock 27.
I didn't know I could shoot that good. That Glock made me look like a real marksman. The other autos were okay and kinda shot around the black with a few rounds in it. That Glock shot in the black a lot, with a few rounds around it. When I remarked how well the Glock 27 shot, the owner of the gun shop said "They all do." Now, I wonder what took me so long see their quality.
Anyway, I'm happy with my new Glock 27. But, I don't know if it will outshoot my Springfield 1911. The 1911 was the best shooter I had, until the Glock was acquired.

I'm thinking about a Glock as well. Here in Nevada CCWs are gun model specific for semi-autos. But, if you qualify with a Glock you are good for all Glocks without having to requalify if you buy another caliber or model.

I like Glocks too but if you think a Glock shoots good, try a Sig. With a Sig 228 or 229 you will keep all the rounds in the black.

glocks are not for everyone, but for those that are they quickly become favorites. :)
imo, glocks are the "harley" of guns. g30 or 36 next onmy list as I don't have a .45. [&:]

I am by no-means...a 'marksman'. But at the gun range I frequent, I can hit the paper
better with my S.A. 1911 .45 Compact better than my Glock 30.
The Glock is lighter and easier to carry......but when Ishoot paper at the range,
the Springfield makes me look better.
So...I CARRY the Glock, but the Springfield is close to the bed at night.

Hey, Reb, tell me about the "kaaboom" issues with HP reloads. I've already reloaded around 250 with Nosler 150 gr HPs ahead of 7.7 and 7.5 gr of Power Pistol already, plan to shoot about 100 of them tomorrow at the range.

I bought my Glock 21 about 3 years ago, my brother came to Fl in August for a vacation, I let him shoot mine, he loved it, so I bought him one for his 40th birthday that month.... two days later Katrina hit, he had 40 inches of water in his house, which we gutted that week.... he needed it to protect against looters.... everyone should carry guns, if we don't only the criminals would have them.

well Hack I am no gun nor glock expert, however, I do tryand hold my own.
ironically, I learned quite a lot re the "kb" issue from one of the first threads in our new gun forum - took me a few but I found it: http://www.hdforums.com/m_2856675/tm.htm
I believe the 27 is more suceptable to this dilema. also, sure u'll find more than ur share of infoin agoogle search. ;)
btw, I have a .40just not the 27. the 27 can be snappy on recoil - this is where, imo, the 9mm g26shines w/ easy
"on target" follow ups. :)

Had the same problem....what I did was while pushing the pin in I took a small screwdriver (like one ya clip in your pocket) and pried at the little notch on the side that holds it on. You can't squeeze that side in for nothin and you need help releasing those notches.
Hope this helps

To Rebel Ryder and cwilks
Reb - I just received two Lone WOlf barrels for the g27. One replaces the stock barrel and the other converts it to 9mm.
Haven't been to the range yet, but I did drop a .40 round in the .40 barrel and it is supported all around. I think, as they are designed, these new barrels are going to go a long way in negating my chances of a kb - Instead of reloading in the lower ranges, I can now reload in the mid ranges as I'm accustomed to. I'm happy.
cwilks - I took that little sucker back and traded it in for a factory +2 Glock g27 barrel. Cost more, but I satisfied.

85 FXWG - thanks for the link. I went to put on the grip extension and had a little difficulty, so said screw it and went shooting without it. When I get home tonight, I will try again.

I love my glock 27!
I also have a Taurus .45 Auto "24/7 Pro" and would carry and shoot the glock before I shoot the .45.
As for the LW barrel change that Hack was referring, I had no idea that it was an option to do such a thing. Knowing this, I will probably invest in the 9mm LW barrel and give it a try.
How easy is the switch over? How much is the LW barrel/kit?

My understanding is that you just field strip the 27 and put it back together with the new barrel. No alteration or anything needed.

That's all it takes - field strip it to get the stock barrel out. Then just drop in the LW barrel - absolutley no problem. It's just as simple as it sounds.
Oh yeah, the LW barrel is a good bit more accurate than the stock barrel. You can also shoot reloads and lead bullets through it. I got it for the reloads, but am still real pleased with who well it groups the bullets.
I haven't shot my 9mm drop-in LW conversion barrel, yet. I ordered a G26 (9mm) +2 magazine and am waiting for it. But the 9mm did drop right in also. The g27 pistol accepts the g26 mag like it was made for it.

I am currently deciding between the Glock and the XD-40. Have not heard anything bad concerning either gun but the XD is coming more highly recommended so far. IMO they look and feel about the same. I currently have a Taurus 24/7 Pro 9mm, 24/7 Pro .45 and a Taurus PT-92, none are very good carrying concealed.

The Glock 27 is a great little gun. If you need more reading, go to Glocktalk.com.
The Glock 27 can also take the longer Glock 23 magazines to hold more rounds.
The 9mm conversion is sweet, as the 9mm is SO much cheaper to buy and is available everywhere.
But if you use the 27 (or any gun) for your CCW, keep it stock and use only factory ammo. (dang attorneys)
