Default Riding without a front fender

I'm one of those old schoolers that likes the look of a no-fender front end, but I hate getting those rock chips on my frame. No matter what road I take, I always seem to get a few. So, I put the fender on. Any solutions? I thought about finding some leather pieces to lace to the frame.

There is a guy on the Touring forum that sells the 3M clear stuff that might go on the front of your frame. Just a thought.

Like frontiercat said, maybe that clear material they use on the front of cars (like a clear bra) to prevent chips.

Hell, I can't quit smiling when I ride. Force of habit....I suppose.

Well there's nothing I can do about the smile, so dirt, bugs, whatever, that's a given. I like the idea about the clear protective stuff, but how well would it hold up to heat?

Don't know about the heat, but it would be cheap enough to replace as often as needed. I have some that I got from my local decal guy that I put on the front inside corners of my hard bags to keep from rubbing the bottom of the seat (on my Road King), and you can't even see it there.

have the frame powder coated, it should hold up better. It's electromagnetically bonded to the frame so it shouldn't chip off.

I pulled my front fender last year and realy haven't noticed alot of road rash. But if there were some chips and dings, heck that what touch up paint is for, and I even live on a dirt road!

Can't wait to get my new spoked wheel on the front end, should compliment the look w/o the fender that much more.
