I is basically a pressure relief for the brake system. If you get on the brakes to hard it will slow the pressure hit on the Brake system preventing Brake loack-up. Some people say it is like having air in the system and makes the brakes mushy. I have been thinking about trying them because I still get on the rear brake to hard in a panic stop.
