O.K to switch over after using regular Harley oil for the last 40,000 miles ? My bike is an '03 FXD.I've been changing the oil every 2,500 miles and I don't beat the snot out of it . All opinions welcome

Should be fine.
But if the HD oil is working well I'd stick with it and the 2500 mile changes...

+1 unless you are in parade mode all the time why change? Synthetics are better if you want to go to 5000 miles between changes but if you are sticking to 2500 dino is fine. Dumping syn at 2500 is a waste. That said. Mobil1 15w50 at walmart may be cheaper than what your dealer is charging. You can easily go to 3-4000 with that oil.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, maybe you'll get another 40,000 trouble free miles.  Make changes when issues araise that cause you to need adjustments, otherwise you can be in for a whole new set of issues.
