coverage on espn or the news. (alot of nascar)
when they come up here to the northwest in july. they might
get a small blip on the news.

makes me mad as hell, and i'm not goin to take it any more.. lol

NHRA my friend.  Not even close for me, actually it's the only motorsport I can stand to watch on television.  Being at a live NHRA event is unbelievable.  I try to make it to Vegas every year.

i hear that. nascar is ok but, theres nothing like 16,000
collective horsepower firing up at one time.
covering 1/4 mile in under 5 seconds at 330 mph from a
standing start.
get goose bumps just talking about it

Popularity of the sport is a two-edged sword.  The way NHRA is now, the fans get to be up close and personal with what's going on.  You can stand there at the pits and watch the crews break down the cars and rebuild them just a few feet away.  Also, you can get autographs/photos easily.  Try that at a NASCAR event.  To get near the drivers, you either have to get a ticket including a hospitality pass or a garage pass-much more expensive that at an NHRA event.

that comment makes sense, thanks for that.
it just sucked last year when wally parks (founder of nhra), past on
not a word from any news source, or espn's end of year special.
maybe its not popular enough for the all sports network.

NHRA events are pretty spectacular.  I suppose they don't enjoy the same coverage because they simply don't run enough events.  They typically race about every other week.   I also place blame on them-- it's up to them to get their name out and increase fan base, not the news media's responsibility.

I think racing, in general, doesn't receive great coverage.  The races are once a week, and I am not sure running races primarily on a Sunday supports making it into publications like Sports Illustrated.  I could be wrong.

Doesn't matter, I still love it.
