....put this bike back together with restoration in mind as opposed toseeking performace.
Rebuilta $20.00 e-baybendix...went back in to check float tab and o-ring put it back together for more of the same .Getting tired of down time and spending time trying to find a problem to solve...Maybe it's the $20.00 e-bay carburetor, or a faulty rebuild, maybe not....
So Today I ordered a NEW 38mm BENDIX, (after all I gotseveral good years from the original one I threw away in 81....a new accelerator pump every now and then and it was good)...
Now as I wait for the new one to arrive I'm asking myself if the new larger intake valves I had installed could have had anything to do with it dying out 30 to 60 seconds after it fired up...maybe I need a different main jet or something? I installed a stock adjustable main jet on this carb I rebuilt, and I think I got a few more seconds before it died out by running it on a richer mix, but I can't swear to it. Everything else is stock with the exception of the exhaust system, The larger intake valves, and the adjustible main jet.

Thanks

Start from top -> check that fuel tank cap breaths ( try to run with cap removed) -> check filter inside of petcock -> remove fuelhose from carb and check that fuel flows freely from hose.
Remove floatbowl and check needlevalve operation finally check floatlevel.
If everything is ok then consentrate find something wrong in ignition ...
