Have a 2007 fxstsse had a very hard time finding a solo seat found one at LaPera. They swore it would fit it did like it was made for the bike ! Which was how they said it would. Now my problem got the plastic sheet off the fender with ease, but how do I get the glue off? tried gas, Mr. clean magic eraser, and my dad RIP swore by ligther fluid. None worked....       Please help will post pictures if I get the glue off Thanks in advance.

You might try some WD-40, that gets window tint glue off. Might work in this case. Or mineral spirits.

Great question! With my Le Pera Barebones on it exposes those stock seat plastic wear protectors which look like ass. I want to remove them but am worried about the gummy glue residue left over! I'll be trying some of these remedies on my battery box and electrical cover!

There's something out there called Goo-Gone.  You might find it on line instaed of shooping all over the place for somewhere that sells it.  All these ideas sound good but always try the products before using them on your ride.  Bare metal looks worse than ugly glue residue.

Thanks for the input.  None worked though.  Ended up at a great body shop.  Owner charged me $25 tipped the body guy $20.  It looks fantastic!  They said the adhesive had leached into the clear coat.  He worked on it for about 20 minutes.  Started with laquer thinner, wet sanded it, polishing compound, buffed it out and put a glaze on it!  Well worth the $45 bucks...better than a new paint job!
