i just finished changing all my fluids. while the derby cover was off i figured id adjust the clutch.  now i have 2 problems happening....first while sitting still with clutch pulled in the bike jumps forward a little when i shift into first gear.  then i have a klunking sound when letting out the clutch in 1 and 2 gears and also when letting off and getting back on throttle. did i do something wrong when i adjusted the clutch? i did it exactly as the service manual says to do it. i put mobile 1 20w50 synthetic in primary but after doing some searching it sounds like i need to change it. what is best fluid to put in then.....dex 3 or what? thanks

First issue is the clutch is not adjusted properly.  Pull the derby cover back off.  Using the cable adjuster at the front of the engine, loosen it till you have a fair amount of free play in the lever.  Re-adjust the clutch by turning the adjuster screw in til you start to feel some resistance, then back it out 3/4 turn.  You have to hold the adjuster scress while tightening the nut back up or the adjuster screw will move.  Then go back to the cable adjuster at the front and tighten the cable until you have about 1/8" free play in the lever.   The oil you are using wont hurt, but it is not what I would recommend.  The oil in the primary is to cool the clutch more than anything else, so no need to use expensive synthetics in there, the factory recommended oil is fine.
