View Full Version : Traded the 08 Bob for an 08 Night Train UNCLE PAT 05-06-2008, 11:59 AM Couldn't resist...... 07bobber 05-06-2008, 12:01 PM CONGRATS.....THE NIGHTTRAIN IS A NICE BIKE!! tazman509 05-06-2008, 12:09 PM How did they treat you on price as far as trading it in so quick? They are nice bikes as well. Probably the only softtail I would even consider. 1tuffceo 05-06-2008, 12:11 PM Congrats man. If I only had the $$$ wdg 05-06-2008, 12:14 PM why? dyna07custom 05-06-2008, 12:19 PM night is a cool bike best of luck I hope they gave you good$ on Bob Dawg Rider 05-06-2008, 12:21 PM When I first started reading thisboard I was surprised by how many brand new bikes there were. Since then I've been more surprised by how quick so many folks are to trade. Anybody who's had his current bike longer than a yearis the exception around here. Maybe it's just because owners of new bikes are more likely to post...who knows. BTW- I plan on remaining the exception for some time- unless I hit the lotto, that is.;) ksscooter 05-06-2008, 12:38 PM I bought a new 1980 Sporty and hated it, and sold it to get a 1980 Super Glide. The last new Harley I bought was a 1983 Low Rider. Jeez that was 25 years ago. As soon as my used 1994 Low Rider wears out maybe I should consider another new one. Something to ponder. UNCLE PAT 05-06-2008, 01:28 PM They gave me 1k less than my payoff......I paid roughly 20k. I likey!! needs loud muffs and stage I for sure.... Smiley51 05-06-2008, 01:39 PM Dude you went to the DARK side:DJ/K. Night train is a sweet bike. spiritwarrior 05-06-2008, 01:58 PM Just bought an 08 Street Bob this month and for the money I'm spending for the add-ons I should have just bought a Street Glide instead. Cloud09King 05-06-2008, 02:17 PM They gave me 1k less than my payoff......I paid roughly 20k. $20K??? Yiles!!! The Nighttrain's a great bike & all but for that kind of money you could have bought a Softail Deluxe, Street Glideor Road King Classic? But if that's what you really wanted more so than anything other bike then all the best to ya. The Night train's a great bike & comfortable as a bastard! JRK5892 05-06-2008, 02:37 PM 20 G is NUTS!!!! man... should have hunted around domenicp7 05-06-2008, 05:10 PM Good luck nice bike. What was wrong with the Bob? Msrp with setup and alarm black I presume would be about 17k tax on the difference of the trade should be small. Did you not get pipes etc. I hope. Pendragon 05-07-2008, 12:24 AM Nice looking bike indeed!!!! HarleypsychRN 05-07-2008, 12:36 AM Not sure I understand...MSPR is $15,895. Assuming you got the security system, the wheel option and with freight it should have come to...$17,090. If you lost $1000 on trade is still should have come to $18,090.00. SK8ROD 05-07-2008, 02:19 AM traded down and emptied your wallet! bummer pete UNCLE PAT 05-07-2008, 07:08 AM ok financial gurrus'.....added some thinigs also.....20k. gimme a break...it's a stealership!! Airborne350G 05-07-2008, 11:53 AM The Night Train is a sweet ride. I wouldn't mind having one myself. I probably would have bought that instead of my Wide Glide had I known that the passenger pegs were mounted to the swing arm on the Wide Glide. UNCLE PAT 05-07-2008, 12:12 PM 20k for what I got is a good deal.....Harley recently raised all their interest rates also.....TRUE STORY. With neg equity.....500 down....20k is more than fair. harleyxlc 05-07-2008, 12:18 PM ORIGINAL: HarleypsychRN Not sure I understand...MSPR is $15,895. In any state with a high tax rate...tax and title will bring this right up to $20k But I am curious why...did you get the wrong bike to start with or what? 103ci07nightrain 05-07-2008, 03:20 PM Hey Pat as long as you are happy.Thats all that matters.Enjoy it!!! They look good on your bike, and I was thinking about puting a set on my Wide Glide. jwb47 05-08-2008, 10:12 PM hey if it makes you happy then dont sweat ityour the ne paying for the thing not us. I remember back in the late 70's I made the statement I would never pay 10,000 dollars for a new pick -up truck. I never did pay ten grand but I have payed 14,000 , 17,000, 25,000 and 32,000 for new trucks since I made that statement. HarleypsychRN 05-09-2008, 08:29 AM Thanks God all that softail mania is over. It was getting crazy for a while. http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh200/HarleypsychRN/may7-016.jpg UNCLE PAT 05-20-2008, 12:55 PM Just checking in! 2-3 weeks into the train and I love it!! I should have bought the soft tail to begin with. I just wasn't happy with the bob. I've installed my own V&H pipes....A?C and PCIII.....so I saved some cash from the stealership...... I am very happy.....and satisfied! lucospock 05-20-2008, 02:47 PM before buying mine, I have so much hesitated because I also loved the Bob... Didn't regret it... Have fun! Scooter Wench 05-20-2008, 04:41 PM Night train was one of the other models I was looking at when the Fat Bob came out. Loved the look and feel of the Fat Bob. Glad I chose that one but would probably have been just as happy with the Night Train. Glad you found one that made you happy! That's all that matters! Ride safe! superglide06 05-20-2008, 08:46 PM ORIGINAL: UNCLE PAT Just checking in! 2-3 weeks into the train and I love it!! I should have bought the soft tail to begin with.
