Default IDS on a softail, anyone know if it will work.(Back from the Dead)

I put a thread on the bagger forum, but figured I'd put it here too as many of you have baggers too. Is it possible to put the IDS kit on a softail? I just thought that if it is such a great thing for the touring bikes, why not put it on my bike too. I know the HD site says for touring models only, and the forum search brought up nothing, so I've tried looking around, but came up with nothing. Anyone have any insight? are the pulley dimensions the same? bolt pattern and such. Just curious if I can make it work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brad

Probably just buy one and see if it fits, if it don't then make sure if you return it you can get your money back

It's the Isolated Drive system that's now standard on the Electra glide. It's really for touring models to help dampen out torque oscillations, making for a smoother ride, smoother acceleration, etc. Alot of the baggers are saying it's the best thing ever, just figured why not on a softail. We like a smooth ride like the rest of them.

Looking for new info on an old topic. Started looking into this again, and wanted to see if anyone knew if it would fit or not, before dropping $400 on the IDS kit just to find out it doesn't work. My HD dealer sucks so they are now help. Sorry again for bringing an old post back from the dead.
