anyone have an opinion to which carb is the better overall carb? I'm getting ready to purchase either a Mikuni 45 or an S&S Super G. GIMME SOME 411!! :)

had S&S on evo found it to be ok put on a miknui way better throttle response. S&S easier to tune but i would have to say Mikuni once set up is way better carb!!! IMO good luck to ya

Mikuni, the 45mm is for large displacement. Make sure it's not overkill on yours.

What's your bike and how is it? Depending of the bike, the Mikuni 42 probably be better than the 45. I have the Mikuni in my bike and I love it, the bike has a lot of better response than the stock CV. -- Javi

ORIGINAL: Harley_Dude Mikuni, the 45mm is for large displacement. Make sure it's not overkill on yours. Good advice! I had an 89 inch stroker kit in my Evo (now an S&S 107!), with flowed heads, high comp pistons, etc. Fitted a twin-choke SE Holley (similar in overall choke area to a 45mm), but it was way too much. Unless your bike is even bigger or drastically tuned, a 42 is probably better.
