I just wrote a twenty five page response to that piece of SH!T JC Rider. But it went to "Lost my connection" heaven.

I'll try to start over and shorten it a little.

As a totally disabled US Marine Corps Vietnam Combat Vet, with three purple hearts, (I didn't win any of 'em, I didn't even know I was in a game,) who was diagnosed with "War Neurosis" later changed to PTSD, I would be willing to bet JC never served a day in combat and most likely was never in the service.

As far as other branches of the military goes: I would not be a Totally Disabled Service Connected Marine Corps Vietnam Combat Vet if it wasn't for the Navy Sea Bee's (CB's) that used their bulldozers to push out a LZ for the Army, 101st Airborne helicopter to land and take me to the 3rd medical Battalion in Quang Tri. Or the Marine Corps Helicopter that took me to the Navy Hospital ship the USS Repose for an emergency operation on my head wound. Nor if it wasn't for the biggest airplane I have ever seen, an Air Force Galaxy Strato... something or the other that took me to Japan for 8 more operations on my head and legs.

Yes, I will rag on any and all the different branches of our military but, I will always remember that if it were not for them, all of them I would a dead Marine Corps Vietnam Combat Vet and another name on the Wall.

So screw that piece of crap JC Rider and I thank each and every one of you that served and all of you that supported us, whether or not you served..

Most of the regulars here know I fly a full patch with the Vietnam Vets M/C, most of my brothers are combat Vets. I have never heard even one of them talk the way JC Rider did about another Veteran. Regardless of what branch of service he was in.

As Gunny Hightower would say,  "I was kickin' ass an taken names when his, JC Rider's mom was deciding whether to spit or swallow!" It's clear she made the wrong decision, she should have spit.

It's people like him that give Vets a bad name and make it harder for real Vets to get adequate medical care and compensation. Yes, medical care is vastly improved in the 40 years I have been using the VA system for medical care, but it still inadequate.

Disabled Veterans have not received a raise in compensation sense WW2. Yes, every now and then they give a COLA increase but that's not more than 3% at most.

It's a sad fact that the very same kids that we send into harms way to protect our way of life, justly or not, are forced to live in squaller after they become to disabled to serve anymore. Paying a service connected totally disabled combat veteran under the poverty level is a shame and should be a crime!

I know I got off on a tangent, but people like this piece of SH!T piss me off. It's their fault Veterans are treated like they are. These pieces of crap run their mouths and make people look at real vets with destine.

My club is having a party in Sebring, Fl on the 4th of July, I sure hope JC Rider shows up so he can tell my brother Air Force Veterans they suck! I would like to watch that.

So JC Rider bring your PTSD ravaged butt on down here and run your mouth. Please!

I'm not threating anyone at all, really I'm just inviting a fellow veteran to come on down and get some well needed therapy.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I will bust on other branches, especially Marines , but it's between us and all in fun. I will never disrespect another branch in all seriousness because we all depend on each other when it hits the fan. Thanks for your service Alias, and welcome home. That was a great and moving story, thank you.

I had a bad dream the other night.  I dreamed I was getting up in the morning and there were no black T-shirts in the dresser only white ones.

How times have changed!!!  So many of today's vet's come home from the "zone", thumping their chest and seeking recognition, not showing one iota of humiliation for what they have seen and experianced. (Look at me, I have PTSD--you better show me some respect because I'm bringing the war back home with me and I'm gonna shove it in your face).

It all bodes ill for the future of this Nation.

As Alias could tell you, PTSD is a very, very personal problem, which effect's individuals differently, and is best delt with by professionals & peers.

The REAL combat veteran hero's are men like Captain Kangaroo (WW11, Iwo Jima) and Mr. Rogers (Nam) who both saw and participated in severe combat experiance, then came home and humbled themselves by trying to teach the next generation how to be compassionate and civilized.

Wow Mr .Rogers was in Vietnam? That's pretty cool but it makes me wonder if he sang to the enemy "F-R-I-E-N-D special! You are my friend, you are special to me."
Oh God I can't believe I remembered that song.

Help me...

("Won't you please, please won't you be, my neighbor")

Fred Rogers was Special Forces, specializing in hand to hand combat. He had at least 25 confirmed kills to his credit when he came home.
That sweater he wore everyday on his TV show, was specifically to cover his tattoos.
Fred Rogers was the epitomy of an American hero!

I really hate to be the one to bust bubbles here but nether Captain Kangaroo or Mr. Rogers were in any type of action. Mr. Rogers was not in the military at all and The Capt. was never in combat.

Here is some additional information that deals more specificially with 'Mr. Rogers' and some of the 'unfounded claims' dealing with his military record (or lack of);

There are tens of thousands of heroes who remain nameless in popular culture but provide the gift of leadership and the benefit of their experience to young people through continued public service. No rumors, no urban myths.

I consider myself fortunate to work with many vets coming through this program.

Celtic,

You got my respect hands down. Not anyone can complete the training you did and endure the stress that you have gone through.

Don't let ANYONE piss you off who doesn't get it ....They are too selfish and clueless to understand.

Thanks again for doing a job that many don't have the guts to carry out!

It does a little, but not anywhere like JC was posting.  I call his bluff...I can't believe his is a Vet.  Short of posting his DD214 (editted to remove personal info), I will have to call his posts BS.

I don't know the person that is referenced in this thread, or his military record, so I don't know if bbbbbbbbbthe information in question is true or false, but your comment does bring up a good point.

There are many that "claim" to have certain military experience and citations, but investigation has found their claims to be false.

I'm also a member of a Veterans Association (Combat Vet Motorcycle Association), in which 'full members' are required to have been involved in actual combat operations.

And to even be considered for full membership the interested veteran is REQUIRED to submit a copy of their DD214 so their claimed combat experience can be verified, and these military record are checked and verified beforehand.

+1  Like us in the Warrior Brotherhood have to send your DD214 in and have it verified although we allow all military personnel to Join.  3 Vacations to Southeast Asia, all in the bush.  PTSD is what they call in now, Huh.  We VN Vets got the term going postal, Jeeze must be getting old.  If'n he's talking that way he wasn't there, its 40 years since I was in country and I still won't talk about it unless I am seriously lit and with others who have walked down that path.

But seriously, let him rant, no sweat off my back ifn he's dinky dow!  For the vets here, Thanks. For those who back the Vets Thanks,  I am proud also to be a member of the PGR.
My father served in WW2, Korea and VN and has all the been there medals and I never heard him tell one story about it!
Peace be to the Warrior Home!

Don't want to offend anybody but When a fellow vet or biker is in some kind of pissed off mood it is normally my feeling that some one is asking for some kind of help! Again not trying to be hippie child but damn man you can not please everyone. Just that when someone is hurting you try to herlp them out. I just saw a vet asking for help and wanted to relate. Yeah I could have just stood by and watched but that is not my type of personality. I want to be there for my guys as well as those who served in the past. Now I can not even imagine what the Vietnam guys went through I stick around the VFW from time to time and hear some knarly shite. I thank all you guys and hey talking it out is cool. If it come out that it looked as though I was saying diffrent I appologize. So forgive me for trolling in and asking for a thank you...Whatever man! I do what I think is right and I do not need anyone to pat me on the back to let me know that what I am doing is either ok or kissing a$$...I do what I want to because I want to. Thats it for me and me only! It just hit a sore spot that some of you just do not get the biker way...and some would just let a fellow vet go off with out at least trying to listen to what really is being said.

So anyways let us just buy a round of beers hit each other in the face and get another round. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Not having served in the military (vietnam stopped the year before I was elligable for draft), I think its good to at least be aware of this subject. It certainly explains some of the personality traits my father had. By his 19th birthday, he had flown 36 missions over Germany as a B-24 pilot, shot down on 13th mission and crash landed on two others. Growing up he never once spoke about his wartime experiences. We had seen his uniform and medals (Air Medal & Distinguished Flying Cross) but never thought of the horrors he must have encountered. Even after his death in 1990, my mother continued contact with his remaining crew members from those days. After all, we suspect now that we found a picture, that she was the subject of the nose art on his bomber.

Just wanted all ex and current military people we have here to know that many of us non-military respect and understand the resulting problems you may have. One never knows how they will react in times like those, but obviously you do know. Unimaginable to me. Again, thanks and if you ever need help let me know.
