Going to Tennessee HOG rally and leaving from Chicago. Three seasoend riders looking for the tips that make the trip that much more enjoyable. Two routes in mind, one down the Mississippi to near Memphis and accross to Nashville then toTownsend TN.
The other through Indiana and Ohio to a road that connects to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Leaving on May 30 and returning on June 7 or 8th.
We also would like to catch up with anyone down there already. Without the people along the way the journey is ...............

I would chooseroute #1. The BRP would be really slow and you'll have plenty of good mountain rides once here. That's my two cents.

Good point. I'll chew on that. Thanks for the input.

I would also choose the river route, Robin is correct about the BRP being slow. You should realize that riding Tn. from West to to East is a long ride at over 400 miles from Memphis to Townsend.

Dyna Rider,
Thanks, I plan on taking five days to get there from Chicago. Is that the Mississippi in the back ground?
So far 2 votes for the river route.
Feed back much appreciated.

We are leaving on the Wednesday before the rally at 7am. I'm leading a group from the local HOG chapter up there. If ya want to tag along you are more than welcome.

No John, That is the dam at Ft. Loudon lake on the TN river. Just a short local ride. Hope you folks have a great ride down here to the rally.

Dyna Rider, Thanks and we will be safe. Nice job on the ride. What kind of pipes you runnin there? I like the black.
leeinmemphis, If we go the route of the Mississippi we will be headed through Memphis around that time frame. Would be good to meet up with a group. I'll run it past the other guys. We are all bagger dudes and can hang with the pack or cruise slow and take it all in along the way.
