Substituting bike for truck/car everytime it can possibly work. More so than ever since it now represents a serious savings as well as having a ride.

F-no.  I clocked off more than 2500 miles in the last month.  I take it everywhere.  75 Mile round trip to work everyday, short trip for errands, date night with the wife, anytime I dont need a trunk.  Its crazy what you can fit in the saddlebags.  At 43 MPG its a no brainer.  Frankly I laugh everytime I fill up for 14.00 with the SUV next to me clocking off 75.00 and probably will only get about 80 extra miles over what I get.

Let the prices rise, hopefully it will force all the owners of the expeditions and excursions and suburbans to park them so I dont have to worry about being run over by one.

2 words....HELL NO!

With the Expedition costing $80 bucks per fill-up I think I'll be riding the scoot more.

We are cutting back on our camping in the camper this year due to the costs.

But I guess that means I'll have more free time for joyrides on weekends too!

More bike, less truck. Only problem is that I can't tow a tandem axle cargo trailer with it. Not so good for hauling tile & mortar either. F250 Turbo Diesel with a 35 gallon tank, 17 mpg  - do the math. 45 mpg with the Low Rider.

At 10 MPG the old Dodge doesn't go far from home anymore. Besides, the Fatboy is more fun anyway. When I can't take the bike, I drive the wifes car. It gets 25 MPG.

Now that the weathers nice I'll be putting gas in the Wrangler about once every 4 to 6 weeks!  I can almost deal with that.    The rest of the time I'm on the Bob.

Truck costs 150 to fill and get 850kms

Bike costs 20 to fill and gets 250kms.... Bike wins.

Nope! Not cutting back on anything.  Took SUV to Vages two weeks ago.  Took 3/4Ton Hemi Quad Cab to a bicycle ride.  Bike weighs 20 pounds.  Fits real good in the 8 foot box.  Life is too short to worry about what things cost.

18000 miles in 10 months. I should do about 27000 more in the next 10 months. Glade I have the 2 year unlimited warranty. I am not sure what it cost considering tire prices.

I try to ride more than ever now. It is cheap compared to a gas guzzling PU and way more fun.

I answered yes.  I've always favored motorcycle commuting over taking my S10 Blazer anywhere; but I'm not taking off on all day joy rides with no destination in mind either.

In my opinion, the question wasn't about whether your commuter habits have changed; but whether or not you are cutting back on the recreational riding.

Riding as much as ever.  Averaging around 3000 miles a month.  Got 48 mpg on last tank.

Truck is getting used less and less.
