Just a quick question for those of you that purchased the new Super Tuner. Does it come with the software cd, or do you have to buy it seperately? I ask because I just had the dealer install a set of BR 2 into 1 pipes and the Super Tuner on my Fat Bob. Picked up the bike today and he hands me a small box with the cable in it but no CD with software. I asked him where the disk was and he told me the new tuners don't come with a cd, you have to bring it back to the dealer to interface and change the map. I wasn't sure so I came home and started reading some of these threads and it seems like it comes with the disk, and also states that in the product description online. I wanted to double check with some of you before I called the dealer back to say WTF!

Thanks, I thought that was how it was. Guess I owe the dealer a call now to try to get my disk. If it goes anything like it has just trying to get the thing installed at all I'll be up for a fight with them. Thanks again for the reply RA51...

If your interface doesn't have a red button on it you didn't get the new tuner and the SERT doesn't have a disc

Crap, it doesn't have a red button on it. You mean the dongle, right? I guess that's really all there is besides the cables. I guess they got me. Should be interesting to see them explain that one to me. Thanks doc, I never would have known the difference- I guess they were counting on that.

This is what they gave me... Sorry for the blurry pic, I can't find my camera and used my phone instead.

That look just like my EFI RACE TUNER KIT PN: 32107-01L. Not the PRO.

Does the dongle and/or box it came in have a part number on it?

That is the SERT Interface, I know as we made them. It's not a new Super Pro Tuner.

Figures, that'll teach me to do more research upfront and get all the info. I was in such a hurry to pick up my bike I grabbed the box he had and took his word that the new tuners didn't come with software. He started it up with those Big Radius 2 into 1's on it and I just wanted to get it out on the road. Thanks for all the help, I'll see what the dealer has to say about this Monday... Does anyone know if there is a big difference between the 2 tuners? I was told the main difference is that the new is just for all models and the old SERT was model specific, if so should I just ask for a refund of the difference in price or should I go through the hassle with these guys to replace it with the right tuner? It took a month to get them to put this one in with the pipes. Thanks again...

Both units do the same thing. The magic if you call it that is how well the tuner does his/her job when tuning the bike.

If that's the case I'll just get a refund for the difference, I think they said it was like $100.00 difference between the 2. About the tune, I got the bike back and it's harder to start and I get alot of popping during decel, is that normal?

There's a good chance the person that handed you the part didn't even know the difference between the two. Look at the invoice and see what you paid for. The Pro Tuner PN is 32109-08.

No, decel popping is only normal with a dealer tune...lol, only kidding.  Here's the deal, this is a Delphi system, when tuned properly it should be as smooth as the cage you drive.....does your car have decel popping, does it ping.....I doubt if it does so why would it be normal for a Harley to do all those things UNLESS you have some ungodly 3'' exhaust system.  It grieves me to hear the excuses tuners make fore there incompetence.
If you have the SERT keep it....I personally think it is a much better program than the Fisher Price version Harley came out with.

Right now I am using the SERT but since my old computer crashed I now have no way of using it. Is it worth it to upgrade to the new tuner since that one will work with VISTA (junk) and has the capability of recording?

If you can wait for a while the TTS's V-Tuner will be on the market and it is Vista compatible plus it can be ordered with a usb connection. Honestly the V-Tuner will be the better buy with more bang for the buck.  If you can't wait the Super Tuner will work but figure on paying $560.00 for it.  I'm NOT recommending this but some people have used Vista and a Bilikin USB adapter with the SERT and had success doing so......but again I don't recommend it.
