The only thing I can think of with that bike is big engine, little gas tank.

They only made the Screaming Eagle in 05 & 06. They both had the 1250 motot and tons of chrome, but in 06 they had the 240 rear. Now you can buy a new 08 with the 1250 motor, 240 rear, ABS and a larger gas tank. The SE bikes are nie and that is a pretty good price for one.

i have a 06 se and really like it...i like the 05 se bikes also..i think harley davidson did a great job on both years...the small gas tank was a problem for me, but i bought the rick's tank to replace the stock one...i do not think the price you stated is a bad for the 05....

Of the two years for the SE, my opionion is that the 2005 is a better year---simply because I don't like the 240 tire. The small tank size can be overcome with one of the aftermarket tanks, Unlimited Engineering or Rick's Motorcycles. I have the Unlimited in my 06 A.

You would have better brakes on the 2006 though...................

I think the red 2005 SE is one of the prettiest motorcycles on the planet, but when the choice came down to a used one or a 2008 I went with the new one. I figure I can doll it up all I want as time goes by, but start off with some very desirable upgrades, most notably the gas tank. Anything is possible with the cash. Just look at VRodMike's masterpiece.

I don't like the 240 tire.

I did like the bigger rear tires

until I started using them

now i will probably never own a bike with that big of a tire ever again

Have to agree with Lil on that one. The red 05 is a good looking bike. The best looking Rs are the yellow ones. As for the D, has to be Vivid Balck on Flame Red.

IMHO i would go with 08AW you get the 1250cc, 240rear, 5gallon tank, abs, and security system for about the price your paying for that. Your going to do mods thats a given so you actually make out better on an 08 then the SE. just my 2cents
