Have a 2007 RK Stdr. Bigbore kit, Thundermax ECM, Rush 1.5" baffles. Run 92 or93 octane or the bike just pings like crazy.
Started with 2" baffles--- too loud. Went to 1.75" baffles.... better and the engine smoothed out some. Went to 1.5" baffles and the sound is right and the bike runs considerably better than with either of the other larger baffles.
Just my observation.

Something sounds funky in the timing, there should be no pinging no matter what size baffle you run, even with lower octane fuels unless you are running a high compression(10.5:1 or above) piston.
