I just installed the TVII on my 2004 Road King Classic. Everything is hooked up exactly as per the instructions, and the LED on the module lights as it should with the key on showing that it has power. My problem is the bike won't start with the TVII. It cranks, but won't fire. I finally narrowed it down to the crank position sensor (CPS). When I disconnect the TVII CPS and reconnect the stock CPS, the bike fires right up. I know almost nothing about electronics. I just read the instructions and follow them to the best of my ability.

One thing that I noticed is that the TVII wires are VERY flimsy. It doesn't look like they would hold up well under typical engine operating conditions. I also noticed that there is only one wire going from the TVII module to the CPS. Should there be two?

Has anyone else run into a problem like this with the TVII? Right now I'm just running with the TVII sensors disconnected (TPS and CPS). The bike is running lean though with my free-flowing Hooker mufflers. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Doug

I'm unable to get ahold of anyone at Terry Components, so I thought I'd try here again.  So far I'm not impressed with the support at Terry Components.  Could be that they're on vacation which is fine, but they should at least leave a voicemail message indicating this.

Anyway, anyone out there who is famailiar with the Terminal Velocity II that can help me out?

Doug

I don't know the answer to your problem, BUT I wish you'd PM'd me or posted in regards to Terry Components BEFORE shelling out the doe for their junk.  The forum has been FILLED with disatisfied customers buying their CRAP.  Their customer support(LACK OF) is appalling.   I recommend returning that piece of junk and getting something else.......ie PCIII.   I personally use the SERT, but for a simple stage I build, the PCIII is more than adequate and quite cost effective.

I just received a call back from Jim at Terry Components.  It took a while, but at least I got a call.  Anyway, he told me that the CPS is not getting a signal, and that I can return the unit for him to inspect.  He even gave me an RA number.  I'll continue trying to troubleshoot the unit myself, and if still unsuccessful I'll send it back.

I really want to stick with the TVII because I want a close-loop system.  I've had the PCIII's before, and those dyno tunes get expensive!  My gas mileage was also horrible with the PCIII and I didn't like the start-up delay either.  Anytime I would ride in high altitude the bike would not run well.  I want a close loop system that (in theory) will eliminate all need for dyno runs and will automatically compensate for altitude changes.  The TVII has been a pain so far, but I'll be a happy camper once I get it operating correctly.

been using a Terrys Terminal Velocity on my 05 FLHPI for three years, couldn't be happier with it! most riding at 3000' elevation and runs impressive over 11,500' mountain passes. Much better power than stock. Running Big Sucker and Rinehart Tru Duals. You might have got a bad one
