Someone posted a “how many fire fighters are there” question and it got me thinking, how many Medical profesionals do we have on this forum? I’m a Physican Assistant in Emergency Medicine at our local hospital ER. Been a PA for 33 years, Riding Harleys for 29.

I'm an RN in Illinois and Indiana, just no longer practicing.  Hated every minute of it for 6 long years.  Now doing fast food work.  Not as much pay, but able to smile in the morning.  And still able to make my bike payment .  Been riding scooters for 15 years, but HD for only the last 3 (finally grew up in both areas I guess)

Paramedic for 4 years now.

The only person in the ER that can do for a patient is the DR.    And we get paid less than the person that answers the phone. Go figure.

I was a Rad Tech for 13 years (1961-1973) before PA School. It was back in the day of darkrooms and WET films. I clearly remember, although not fondly, the Monday AM exposure to fresh developer chemicals after a hard weekend out and the numerous piles o' puke I left in the wates basket in the DR. Thank goodness I don't do EITHER any more. By the way, our first auto developer was a Picker that measured about 8-9 feet long and took 9 minutes to develop and dry a film. Digital now and I love it from a PA's (and ex-tech) view point

Yeah, remember in x-ray school having to learn all the chemicals and how to develop film. There were still some hospitals in my area using paper cassettes. As for now everything is digital, but as you well know we still use the term "wet read".
