Im new to this group and to Harleys.  Just got my first one last weekend.  It is a 1977 sportster. I was wondering if any of you  ironhead experts could help me decode my vin number to figure out which model I have or point me to the right  place on the site to do it myself.  The bike only has 18,000 miles on it and original paint.  It has drag bars and an aftermarket seat and I think someone did a little work on the font end cause it seems like it sits up pretty high.  Anyway the vin number is 4A44828H7. any help is greatly appreciated.  Im sure I hill have many more questions in the future.
Thanks,
Matt

4A = XLCH
44828 = production number
H = decade -i.e. '70's
7 = year - '77
