Default plugs on 2006 1200c

I have 2006 1200 custom with se ac and seII slipons. I keep having to change out the plugs but they are turning blaack! I know that if its to lean they will turn white w, what do you guys think I need to do to remedy this? The stealer serviced it and said that everything was set right but it still seems to want to eat plugs. Thanks for any help...

How long do you leave the enrichener pulled out when warming up. You are either burning oil, or your bike is running rich.

If it's a wet black your burning oil, if it's dry black your running rich. Over use of the choke will also give you a dry black.

I dont use the enrichner knob too long but if I push it in too early the bike starts getting what sounds like "carb farts" until I pull it all the way back out for a little longer. The plugs are dry black. Thanks guys!

It does sound like it'son the rich side. What's it like when you ride down the road? Does it seem to run rough only at idle or threw all RPM ranges? If it's just at the low ends, it might be just the slow speed jet or mixture screw.I know on my bike, if I start it cold, I have to have full enrichment for about 30 sec or so. Then I push it in about half way. I ride like that for about a mile or so (depends on how cold it is out) and then push it in all the way. Haven't had to change plugs yet with 5000 k miles.

Seems to run rough through all thr rpms, need to keep full enrichment for way longer then 30 seconds which may also be contributing. But once the bike warms up it seems to run ok, starts right up and everything.

Did you buy the bike new or used? If it was used, I would start by dropping the carb. bowl and removing the pilot and main jets to see what size they are and let us know.
