It's been mentioned that routing the Mascot through the northern states wont be the easiest of tasks. That includes E. WA, ID, Mt & WY.
The distances between towns is great and populations are not what we can call robust. We also don't have a handle on where our membership resides. Also, many of our members are still working and would only be able to make "runs" on weekends.
In order to keep the Mascot on the move I'm going to thow out the following idea to the membership and see if it FLOATS or sinks.
I would like to ride the Mascot to say, Rapid City, SD or Cheyenne, WY stopping along the way and meeting those who have let me know a time and place. I'd also like to have somebody at either of those destinations be able to take over the Mascots travels. By the way, where should it end up?
I can't think of a worthier cause to spend my "Bush Dollars" on, than moving the Mascot.
What do you think?

I would lke to get the Mascot back in South Florida.
I started it from it's Sourthern most point on it's way northand would like to get it back to start it over again.
I'll be riding from South Florida to Columbus Ohio and if it can get to Columbus by 06/16/08 I'll take it southeast again and drop it anywhere along the way.

I can bring it down to the Tri-Cities and have it hung (hopefully) at Shumate Harley. From there I can moved it up to Spokane Washington for any member up there. Ideally it would be great to get it to Sturgis this year.

Ok so the plan is this. The idea is to keep the mascot in the northern states andCanadamoving from west to east and back a little while the weather is cooperative. Ideally it will make it to WI for the 105th and then to Sturgis. If there are any other rallies that it can hit in between those two events then by all means we should try and get it there. It's a good idea to get it through the Rocky Mountain states as they can turn foul fast too. When the weather starts turning to the cold side and is less than friendly for folks in the north then it can get moved back to the south to travel across the southern states again as their riding season is a bit longer than ours.
Yes there is a greater amount of distance in the west between cities and towns but if we keep pounding the boards we can get the forum members out for this. There are folks everywhere. The important part of this is that who ever has it needs to find someone to hand off to and set a date, place and time. Then they need to get the information out to the other rooms because not everyone looks in the Mascot Forum. Then people will know and may or may not come. As long as the two people meet for the hand off that is all that matters as far as keeping it moving.
If the mascot gets to go to multiple locations in a state that is fine too that increases the chance that it will get more signatures. The main goal is to keep it moving and not let it stay in one place for very long. The important part is that the mascot gets to be signed by as many forum members as possible.
So wldbill if you want to make that kind of a ride and can get M&G's in points inbetween then I say go for it. Hopefully others will step up and desire to help with the movement so that they can share in the experience.

I'll be heading west to east a bit father south if it needs a quick lift and can meet me. Would prefer to have others ride with it since I have had it.....but I'll give it a lift to help it move.
Leaving Mt. Shasta, CA June 2 and heading across southern and Mid-Oregon though S. Idaho and over to Yellowstone.
Should be in Burns, OR on the evening of June 2, Somewhere in Idaho on June 3, and just outside Yellowstone, June 3. Then I head south toward Jackson WY and beyond.
Need to know before I leave for the rally on the 29th.
