I was on a short dinner ride this last Thursday with my friends when I  noticed my speedo was not registering, and the security, battery, and check engine light were lit.  Also the odometer was not incrementing.  The performance was not degraded in the least.... everything mechanically seemed fine, and the folks I was riding with did not report any odd behavior with lighting and such.

We got to the resturaunt, ate, and when I went to do a final checkout before I called to get the bike towed back home... viola, everything was fine, and functioned flawlessly the rest of the evening.

I have searched around some but did not apparently hit the right combinations of key words, or I have a possessed speedo!  LOL

Any ideas?  I am cross posting this to the electrical forum as well.....

Thanks!!

Maybe the oil tank is cutting into the wiring harness. Mo Co had a bunch of oil tanks with sharp edges. They fix the issue with foam tape.
