One will have a petcock and one won't. Other than that I don't know.

EFI tank has a place to put the fuel pump inside the tank.  Carb tank has no fuel pump.  They are not interchangeable, unless you have some fabrication skills, and just like doing things the hard way!

Not trying to start anything, Lord knows that Pococj knows his stuff, but I guess everyone learn something new everyday.   The part numbers on the carb and EFI tanks for your bike are the same.  I did an EFI tank install last year on my carb'd FXD and in looking at my parts manual, the part #'s for the EFI and Carb tank are the same.  They have the same brackets on the inside for the fuel pump and the fuel valve/petcock is in the same location.  FXDL tank (prime) is part # 61593-04 and the FDXLI tank (primed) is the same.  The fuel valve and supply lines are different.  Tanks for the pre-2004 and 2006+ bikes are different due to the frame changes.

I don't know about Dynas, but Reaper is an '05 carbed Softail, and she has a cover over the hole for the fuel pump on the top of the tank. As far as I know, there is no difference in EFI/carbed tanks, but you'd need the cover and gasket, and a petcock. I bought her new, so that's the tank she came with from the factory.

Cheers!
