Is the K&N Air Cleaner kit as good as the Screaming Eagle kit ?
Ive sean the K&N filter alone on e-bay .
Will this work or is there a complete kit .
I have the Vance and Hines Big Shot Staggereds .
I,m looking at a new Air Cleaner set up and a Fuel pack or Power Commander .
Any suggestions without bashing PLEASE .
Plain and simple looking for a simple set up with no hassle and dont believe I,ll have my Low Rider (2007 ) dynoed .
Most importantly I installed a 2008 new style air cleaner on my Dyna and want to keep it .
Will either K&N or Screaming Eagle AC work with the 2008 chrome new style housing ???

K&N doesn't have replacement filter for the 2008 dyna air cleaner yet.  HD (Screamin' Eagle) does.  It's a different part number than the '07 and below.

K&N makes a good filter. The biggest difference between the K&N and the SE is that you have to oil the K&N . If it isn't oiled then it won't do you much good. I'm sure that K&N makes a filter that will fit your application as long as it isn't something way out there. If you are going to do a fuel pack/ power commander plus a higher flow air filter along with the V&H pipes, you will probably want to spend at least a little time on the dyno to get the right mixture.

I installed the K&N heavy breather on my 2007 FXDSE, although; I really hated the look of it to start with, but I can't imagine what it would even look like without it now,  it seems to have grown on me.

I installed the K&N RK-3909 Stage 1 air cleaner kit on my 2006 streetbob and like it. The backing plate is oval and has a high velocity stack that attaches to it along with the Traditional red oiled air filter. The Screaming Eagle kit has a round backing plate and uses a round paper filter. You can order the K&N from Autozone for $110 which is cheaper than the SE kit. if you don't like the oval shape and want to go round go with the Arlen Ness Big Sucker kit which is the same as the SE except it uses a reusable air filter similar to the K&N.

get the AN Big Sucker.  It has a K&N, or at least a look alike, filter.  the backing plate IMHO is a much better design than the SE with its hoses.
