so i work overnights so i sleep during the day. i was woken up this morning by the sound of rocks being thrown. i look out the window and 2 little chinese kids are throwing rocks in the parking lot. so i watch them a couple min. and all of a sudden, like my bike was screaming his name, one of them makes a b-line right to my bike and starts scratching the f*** out of it. so i jump out of bed, run outside and yell at them to get the hell away from my bike. i walk over to my bike and see this ...........its like a goddamn nighmare.......
so i walk right over to thier grandmother who is "watching them" and give ger a piece of my mind, and tell her to get off her lazy ass and see what these damn kids did to my bike. long story short cop comes, file a police report,(funny cuz he goes "oh, i saw you riding this the other day, this thing is sick!!") he basically tells me the guy has no renters insurance and he has to pay out of pocket. he put in the report "considerable damage".....YA THINK!!! anyway, its kinda funny though cuz last night at work i was telling my buddy that i was gonna get it painted flat black before the end of the year, looks like it will be sooner than expected and free well here i am on 1hr sleep and about to take my baby to the paint shop, the painter actually told me that flat black will be alot cheaper due to ther being silver leaf on the original HD paint job, lucky for the moron with the stupid kids...... rant over, thnks for listening, ill post pics of new paint when i get them
oh great, to add salt to the wound my Big Sucker just showed up at my door.........

oh boy, that is awful!! I can't believe some people have zero respect for someone else's property.
very very sorry about this, but glad it's gonna get fixed pronto.
Did you get the cash in hand yet?
What did the Grandmother say? Did she beat the kid's ass right then and their??? should have.

thats the plan. i know the painter, hes gonna give me 2 estimates. i feel they should pay for what they damaged, not what im getting done. i know the POs and a judge so i dont see getting the money being too much of a hassle.

no she didnt beat them, she didnt seem to care too much.

That does suck.
It would be awful hard to give up riding, but I don't know if I could put up with the stress and worry if I had to leave my bike in a outside in a parking lot overnight every day. Maybe a cover would help cut down on having it F-ed with.

thats the icing on the cake, this is the first time i EVER left the bike outside uncovered. i had an appt to go to in a few hrs so i left it uncovered so i could hop on and go......big mistake to say the least.

Kids are kids though, they do really stupid things, that's why adults are suposed to watch them, what the hell was the grandmother doing while she was suposed to be watching them? she is the real idiot here.

Did you call the police? It is validilsm. Make sure you get a police report. You can turn it into your insurance and they will cover it, but you would still have to pay the deduciable or beat it out of the kids. Hopefully your deduciable is $250 or less.

UPDATE: well just dropped it off at the shop. they actually said it wasnt deep enough to get far past clear coat and if i wanted them to they could salvage it.........F**K NO!! those bastards are paying for my new paint job whether they like it or not! so they gave me 2 estimates and i left her there to get a makeover.

I know of two little kids that would be getting their a$$es beat if they were my kids. My two know not to even go near the bikes. And that is not only so they don't scratch them, it is also so they don't knock one over. It amazes me every day how many parents (and grandparents too) don't dicipline their kids. Every day I go to work I get at least one call wanting me to send the police to their house to get control of their kids for them. I just can't believe how lazy parents can be. Some people really should have to get permission to reproduce.

That sucks. Too many "parents" today have relinquished their jobs to teachers and various authorities. Be damned sure these people pay you, or else threaten to take them to small claims court...with the police report, that will be a sure win.

I agree, where the F$%K was the grandmother? It sounds like they were not very old. Definately needed to be within eye sight.
If I did something like that when I was a kid, my Dad would have made sure I never did it again! If you know what I mean! And I would have deserved it. That's the whole problem these days. NO DISCIPLINE!!!
As stated earlier, kids will be kids, but must be taught right from wrong and pay the price if they forget.
