Default Zenith carb

Picked up a '75 Ironhead (why?) and have it dialed in so it starts right off, idles good, and responds very good to blipping the throttle (seems a little fat). The major issue is that if I don't shut off the gas it will leak all over the garage floor (not good when there's a pilot light in furnace). I've had it apart at least a dozen times and recently set the float level to almost closed. The problem comes in when trying to get that damn leather seal back into the accelerator pump. Its a bitch. That's where the fuel is leaking from. Man I've tried evrything to get this to stop. I know, buy a Super "E", but don't have thejing. Been a lean winter and I'll be damned if I'M GOING TO LET THIS SUMBITCH BEAT ME! Oh yeah , I got the overhaul kit for it and installed all that **** too. Help!
