When I saw the first couple of photos I thought, How nice. Randy stopped along the road to take some photos of his pride and joy. Then your wife has to pull up with the trailer and ruin the story. Heh-Heh. I am not laughing though, I have been there, done that many times over. OK, the part may be hard to find, but it looks like all you need is the plug. The main jet and jet body are still in place, correct? Call Mikuni tomorrow and see if this plug for the bottom of the VM38 float bowl is available. It is only a plug, and this may be used on a currently made Mikuni. Mikuni American Corporation 8910 Mikuni Avenue Northridge, CA 91324-3496 Tel: (818) 885- Anyway, see if they have it. The next thing to try is to locate a junkie Mikuni that you can buy cheap and rob the plug from it. Meanwhile, I will remove the plug from mine and see what it will take to make one for you. The big drawback to that is the threads will be metric, and my lathe only cuts imperial threads. Let me see what I can do though. If you find one let me know so I do not knock myself out with the effort to duplicate one for you..........pg Edit Note: The part number I have for the main jet plug is 002-132 The washer number is 002-127 This is taken from the Sudco Mikuni catalog. By the way, the phone number for Sudco is 213 728-5407

Wow thanks PG. Luckily, my main jet and main jet extender was intact and all I lost was the plug, gasket, and probably 4 or so dollars of gas (good thing was that I had on my stain defender docker's so the gas just rolled off my pants) LOL. Another good thing is that I found a snowmobile site that had the parts I needed. So I got it ordered for 10 dollars total. I can't tell you how nice it is that you were willing to help me out and try to make a plug for me. Thats spectacular there. You truly have the biker spirit. Helping another biker out as much as you can to get them back on the road. I tell you what if your ever in the Tennessee area make sure to send me a message because I'd like to buy you dinner.

Ok Randy, glad you found the part. Remember, some of those Mikuni round slide parts are very difficult to find, so take of it. The Mikuni is still the best carb I have ever put on a Sportster. My wife plans to go ride her bicycle somewhere in Tennessee this fall at a Multiple Sclorosis Ride and of course I will trailer a sickle with me when we go. So, you never know. I may take you up on the offer of a hamburger. Thanks for letting me know you found the part, that saves me some work, but I would have had a try at making one for you if you had not located the plug............pg
