I do. Where I live, I need it more on the short rides.

I carry a pocket knife. Nah, never felt I needed a hand gun when riding. Besides, the way some people drive I might be tempted to use it.

Carry Glock 27 everywhere all the time (except when going to bars) in a IWB holster. Vest or jacket hides it well.

Glock 27 here. Insurance is a great way to describe it. I hope I never have the occasion to use it anywhere but the range.

The coffee and dounut 'breaks' can get expensive make a gun a sounder investment. Besides, the gun will always be 'on duty' and not taking a crap when needed.

With CCW permits issueable in so many states a better question might be who rides unarmed and why!

The world is full of people who do not value another human being’s life or rights. These are not people that you can reason with or trust to leave you alone once they get what they want. Most criminals would go back to jail if identified and they will do anything to avoid going back to prison. In short, I choose not to be a victim or worse yet, just another murder statistic. BB

I don't expect to be a victim any more than I expect to burn to death in a house fire. I keep a fire extinguisher anyway just in case. Woof!

ORIGINAL: spaniardguy102 Hey just curious how many of you all carry firearms with you when u ride? Im only 20 so I gotta wait a year or so, but Ive heard the odd comment that some bikers carry some "protection" on some longer rides... When the time comes get the very best trianing that you can. That does not mean just range time. There are a lot of legal issues that you need to know about before you go walking around armed. I have carried legaly for 39 years without a problem. I have many weapons but I always have my S&W 642 on me.

CCW permit paperwork submitted and waiting for the permit... It could be another few months, but then I'll carry either a Glock 23, a S&W model 60, or the tried and true chunk of metal: Colt 1911. Edmo
