mist of oil?

I change te oil in my custom 1999 fxstc. I also put a new mikumi carb.

The oil tank is chrome and I noticed that there is a myst of oil (I guess) on the right hand outside under or next where you put the oil.

My exhaust and other parts around are dry.

I wonder where is this liquid come from. I don't see liks.

Any ideas?

Thanks

RG

RE: mist of oil?

Check your air cleaner vent hose to see if it is correctly routed/connected or kinked. Then check your rear cylinder rocker box cover for seeping if it's loose.

RE: mist of oil?

I did check the rear cylinder rocket cover and it's dry and pretty tight, nothing is coming from there. I suspect that it is the air filter like you said. But the intriguing part is the the rear exhaust doesn't have the myst or at list I don't see it. Ill recheck and I will get back.

thank you for your advise I will continue in my search.

RE: mist of oil?

When you changed the oil did you overfill it? If so, it will come out of the air cleaner vent hose. Are all your oil lines tight?

RE: mist of oil?

yes i did, overfill, now I taking some oil out and I cleaned the filter there was some oil in the air filter.
I think that was the problem. I read another post from you and I confirm the problem.

Now after I remove some extra oil what shoould I do? replace the air filter?

thanks for all your help.

Yes, I would replace the filter once you are sure it has stopped puking oil.
