I'm wondering if the small/ wider 18 inch wheel makes the 2008 Springer handle better than the 07? Or is it just a style issue?

I'm a bit partial because I've got one with the 18 incher.

In theory, and from what I have read, it should handle much better.

The quote is "they don't put 21 inchers on sport bikes."

Enjoy,

Happ

I heard the 07’s have a ¼ offset on the front wheel to make up for the 200mm back tire. For the 08’s they relocated the front tire back to center, but went with a smaller, wider tire so the bike would balance properly.

I''ve ridden Springer Softails with the 21" front wheel for several years and just recently purchased a 2008 FXSTSSE2 with the 18" wheel and 130 tire. \\; Big difference! \\; The 130 tracks much better down the road as well as cornering is improved. \\; It could be all psychological, but the front end seems to be more nimble altogether. \\; I love it!

I HAVE a 95 badboy and a 08 SE springer, and i can say for sure that the 18" handles much better than the 21", (i like the looks of the 21") the best way i can put it is that the 18" doesnt take as much effort to keep it from trying to pull all the way to the "full left or right position" when you are making a turn and it doesnt get caught in the cracks in the road and pull you in to them and when you hit a hole it doesnt slam as much with the wider 18" wheel, so as for looks the 21" is the way to go but for comfort, the 18" has it hands down, .. just my two cents,,, jamie
