Very happy for you GAGirl! I'm dumping my debt too. Interest is a stupid tax. Noname

LOL!!! Wish I could, but unfortunately I am still not quite finanacially free. Still have a car note and a mortgage. [&:]

Thanks Noname. Good for you! Working on getting there. At least I can write off the interest on the home for now.

Congrats on the pay-offs. That money can be used to help pay down the other debts and become more debt free!!

Now get out there and ride the wheels off this weekend.

Good for you GAGirl. My car is paid for. I live in an apartment so I have no mortgage (for now). The alimony I pay is over in September (woo hoo!). And I plan on paying off the Sporty by the end of the year. I also plan on selling the Sporty sometime next year and buy a Softail Custom, CASH!

Congrats for sure. You can write off mortgage interest but not any of the other notes, get rid of 'em when you can.

LMAO!!! Not me! I swear! [sm=icon_sneaky.gif] Seriously though, god knows I have gotten my fair share of those through marketing horses. Fortunately they all sound alike so once you've read one, you've essentially read them all.

I am down to just a small mortgage. Boy, in retirement with fixed income and rising prices, its the only way to be.

A friend of mine paid for his new Sporty Custom 1200 with accumulated sick leave when he retired. His license plate frame says "Paid for with Sick Leave". LOL.

Like someone said, interest is a stupid tax. [8D]

Congrats GAgirl, it is a good feeling to pay something off! Then you and "Nancy" don't have a hand in it. JUST YOU! (Fi"Nancy")

My bike is free and clear, but I am working on my truck. Borrowed 26k, down to 17k this month. Paying an extra 100 or so a month on it. Should have it payed off at least two years early! Going to be putting the house on the market. And moving west about 2 hrs with my job. (have substantial equity in the house, lived in it for 18 yrs, and put on a 500 sq ft addition myself...(Sweat equity) Property in the Sedalia area is MUCH more reasonable, and my pay is going up! So things are looking up!

Only thing is, after the trucks paid off, MAYBE before. I will either have two HDs, or sell mine and get a SG.... Soooo probably have another payment for a short while....

With as much as we have to drive commuting to and from our jobs and the mileage we rack up, we will probably continue to have a car note, more often than not. So getting the bikes and my horse trailer paid off was huge and will free up about $1200 a month which will help alot, particularly given present gas prices. We have gone from paying $400 a month in auto gas to over $600.
