Just a question as to how many of you are running under carriage LEDs?  You know the kind that light up the chrome on your scoot?
I know it is illegal in some states.  Legal here I'm told, so long as they aren't emergency colors (red and blue) and not too bright.
I just put two on to try it out and feel I need just a bit more on top.
Gonna do the back wheel well too.
Found a kit of 20 LED's and all needed wiring stuff on ebay for 40 bucks.

I think they add just that one other layer of saftey by being a visual element.  I think they look good too.
But, yeah, I definitely don't want to overdo it. I have seen many with way too much light goin on.  Looks tacky.

thats really cool! makes the Legenedary Rumbling V-twin come to life like a beating heart powering the worlds best motorcycles. haha

LED lighting can get crazy if overdone.

my next sporty project is going to have red LED engine lighting, but it will be switched controlled, becuase i dont want it always on, just once in awhile to show friends.

by the way did you guys see in the J&P Catalog, the spark plug wires that light up everytime the sparkplug fires?

they make little caps that splice into the plugs, and entire wires, and glowing spark plug boots.

i think those, in the same color as the LEDS on an engine, would be really cool!

I have blue one on mine but I sometimes forget I have them on there, lol
I dont use them unless I am at a show or something where the bike is just sitting, never when I am riding.

I like them though, looks awesome at night!

So, is it just a matter of swapping out the spark plug wires and you are good to go?

i dont want that stuff on while riding, only to show off, becuase my next bike is going to be worth showing off

I picked up a cheap 2 red pod $20 set from the indy.  They look okay, nothing to brag on but they do light up the middle of the jug fins and lower case.

I don't like the look. Too Honda Civic Fast and Furious for me... Might as well put two autozone fart can mufflers on it and LED windshield washer nozzles on the front fender.

I mainly use mine earily in the mournings so people can see me. I keep them on a nonblink mode. Riding with them blinking iwill get you pulled over. But in Ga you can use them and ride when they are not blinking.

Sorry, but these are for crotch rockets, metric cruisers, OCC style choppers, and rice burners IMO.

Nothin against you guys...just can't say they're my thing, lol.

Yes, there's a company or two that make direct replacement plug wires and such with neon lights.....the spark going to the spark plug ignites/lights the gas in the wire tube...Here's what came up on an internet search...http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=neon+spark+plug+wires&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8

Like anything else it is a matter of taste I guess.  And like everything else I do, I do it cause I like it.  The kit I bought comes in a pack of twenty LED's, the harness, the switch, Fuse, Shrinkwrap for under 50 bucks.  The picture shown is with just two LED's mounted.  I'm not putting on too many more.  Just going to do the back tire and a couple more at the top end of the engine.
