Have you ever bought something from a TV ad and felt ripped off?  Have you ever bought something that lived up to its claims?  A couple of years ago the wife bought a pressure cooker that was advertised on an infomercial.  It didn’t come with a recipe book and we had a hard time figuring out how to use it without overcooking or undercooking food.  It’s been sitting on a shelf in my basement for about a year now.

Have you or a family member ever bought something from a TV ad?

No, no, and h1ll no.

"If it sounds to good to be true..."

Bought a George Foreman grill which I had seen in infomercials, but only after I'd heard how good they are. (Mine is.) But, I bought it at a local store.

Bought a Jet Stream Oven back in the mid 90s.  It worked like a charm, you could cook an entire meal in it in less than half the time it took in a real oven.  But it was a real MF'er to clean.  Dishwasher safe, my ass.  Sold it in a garage sale for two bucks a few years back.

But only after using one that someone else had.
It is great.

Same here. Got them for Christmas a couple years ago and they've been sitting in a drawer. Last week decided why not try it. Local news station had an interior decorator try them out and said they worked. Love those things now.

No, however I am not understanding the issue with the pressure cooker.

I think we would have starved as kids if my mom didn't use one most of the time. I didn't even know the damn things had recipe books or even instructions.

Got one at the house that is over 30 years old and still works fine. National Presto Industries, Eau Claire Wisconsin.

No, but a guy I worked with years ago had got a plug thing that was going to turn the electral wiring of your house into a giant TV intenna. Guess what it didn't work so we cut it in half and it was just a molded plastic block.

Nine years ago I bought a WebTv Plus, now called MSN TV, after watching an infomercial. I use it primarily for website construction, television programming and email. Best money I ever spent. Click Here and read my website created with a Web Tv Plus by Philips Magnavox (MAT-976).
