There isn't much out there. I have been looking for a mount to get a larger one as well, but the only thing I can find is the license plate one and ones that bolt onto the saddle bag brackets. If you just want a small one, go to http://www.chromebrothers.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.prodInfo&productID=1589&categoryID=755 Just remember, the larger the flag, the more it will pull on parts. There is a lot of force on the flag.

Kinda pricey, but I'm considering ordering two for my luggage rack. I've dealt with this company before, and they're pretty good. I'll probably get the mounts for the larger flags; that way I can always go with the smaller flags if I want. http://www.akamotorcycleaccessories.com/ So, what place did you get your mount? I'm interested in an easily detachable mount for my scoot, probably luggage rack or sissy bar, and a quality flag that's triple stiched at the ends. Sorry, can't help with your overnight accomodations questions. Teek

Yeah, me too! I've just recently joined the Patriot Guard Riders which has gotten me interested in attaching flags to the bike...again. I just need something easily detachable because I tend to use my sissy bar and luggage rack to put stuff on and use as attachment points. IOW, the flags wouldn't be used all the time. Teek

I ride the parkway all the time, fantastic ride and a great way to "escape". Might see you up there, if so, I'd be happy to check out what you need and make a mount for you. I've nade several for my friends and I don't see why you should be any different. Have a good ride.

I would check with a fellow forum user, SportyPig, he has some awesome directions for a flag mount for a full size regulation flag, and he does a lot of Patriot Guard runs, if he is on anytime, and usually is around.

I made mine out of some scrap wood. Used a piece of 2 x 6, cut down to the width of the luggage rack. Then routered out the wood to fit down snug between the bars on the luggage rack. Drilled out 4 holes and counter sunk 4 bolts into the 2 x 6, and fillled the holes back with plastic wood. used a piece of 1 x 4 on the bottom side of the luggage rack drilled out, so the counter sunk bolts from the top part would go through them. Then use fender washer and locking nuts to tighten down the flag mount. I drilled out a 1" hole through both of the wood pieces, and use a 1" heavy duty iron pipe as the flag pole. Had a sliver flag pole topper around from a used "house flag" Cut that off, and used a wooden dowel, and glue to attach the pole topper to the top of the iron pipe. Then painted all of the wood with "chrome paint" It didn't turn out looking like chrome, but it does look like polished aluminum. And I attached a car size Patriot Guard flag to the backside of the wood mount with a metal strap, and wood screws. Trust me, that mount ain't gonna pull off the bike. Of course, it is usually rolled up when at high speeds, but there have been a few occasions where I have flown the flag at 65 mph. Also look for good quality flags. This is a pretty good source for flags. http://www.cvsflags.com/usflag.cfm There are many options for flag mounts, that's just the one I came up with.
