Well I'm getting close to having my 10K service and I noticed that part of this service includes changing the spark plugs.  So, I was wondering should I stay with the stock plugs and wires or change them to another type?  If another type, what does everyone recommend?  I heard some people mention a lower temp plug and I've also heard it's not a good idea to change the sytle plugs.  Any help, as always, will be greatly appreciated.  Also, for a little info on the bike:  Stage 1 AC, 3" Slip-on's, and dyno tuned.

Thanks,
Chris

Give a thought to using your present plugs another 5-10k.  If they show no signs of deterioration go with them a while longer.  I've never had any problems doing it this way.

i went with SE triple plat, basically a Splitfire re-branded. they work great, also went with Taylor leads at the same time. I checked the plugs after 2.5k and they were as new, no deposits at all, nothing, nada, zip

Needed to check my [2007 dyna] service manual, couldn't remember plug requirements at 10k. Says inspect at 1k 5k --- 15k 25k, replace at 20k. Plugs looked fine on my LR at 10k.

You spend 18 grand for a bike, what is another 5 bucks for some new plugs?

I'm with you. I'm not asking should I change the plugs, but what plugs should I get.

Sorry, I was referring to the go another 10k on the ones you had.  I would think that the stock ones would also be the type to use as well going forward.

Thanks guys.  I think stock is the way Im going to go.   One other question, though, if I bought the platinum tip plugs is there any benefit other than longer plug life?
