Default Suicide Shift

Hey folks,
I would like to put a Suicide Shift on the bike I plan to build. FLH Chopper Pre 70s Knuckle or Pan is my goal.. There any advise out there so I don't buy stuff I don't need? Hopefully my terminology doesn't suck.

Thanks.

There's at least two ways you can go that I know of, maybe more. There's the JP cycles clutch/rod sifter or get an old stock rocker pedal set up withthe stick shift. I'd had both on my 1963 Pan atdifferent times(which I just sold this past January). I preferred the old stock rocker pedal set up.

So what IYO was the difference? Ease of shift, play, range of shifting?

Thanks.

I thought the old style rocker pedal as oposed to the forward only clutch pedal wasmore user friendly. The the old style rocker seemed more dependable, solid but not as slick looking as the clutch pedal. The one I hadwas original, not chromed and I had to ad lib the rubber pieces on the two ends. The forward only pedal that is sold

The range is all adjustable thru that arm that runs from the pedal to the clutch lever of the tranny.

This one listed in the JP catalog is the readily available one and easy to put on. I had this set up for awhile, it was okay:

Rocker clutch stays where you put it. Suicide clutch is just like a car-type: you have to hold it down.

Unless you can find an original rocker assembly in good shape, go with a suicide. The repop rockers are all made by V-Twin Mfg. aka Taiwan Tedd. I don't care where you buy it from, it will source from Tedd. They are junk. I had one break on me several times. Crappy welds that couldn't be seen until they let loose.

Taiwan Tedd is well known for ripping other people's designs off, then having them made in certain Asian countries, and sold at a lower price than the inventor could possibly meet. Sorry, that makes him a low-life scum-sucking thief. If you ask, I'll tell you what I really think of his business practices. [:'(]
