I just got back from the Myrtle Beach Rally and was washing my bike with seat removed and must have gotten water on something electrical. I know the ECM is under the seat  along with some other electrical connections. I have a 2008 Street Glide. The problem is when I tried to start the bike it starting popping like it was running on one cylinder and then cut off. I tried to start it again and it would turn over but would not start. I unplugged the ECM and then plugged it back in and it started again but ran ruff again. Any ideas or suggestions on what my problem could be and how to remedy this situation??

Thanks for your help.

You must have got water in the plug wire or the ign. Water should not have hurt the ecm. Let it dry over night and it should be ok.
Good luck

Anytime I wash the bike now with the seat removed I put a plastic bag over the electrical and then a small towel over that.  I also make sure not to direct any water directly in that area.   I hope once your bike dries up everything's back to normal.  Good luck.

If you think you got water in the ECM connection, unplug it and blow it dry with compressed air or use a hair dryer to dry it out.  Why wait for it to dry?

Let's see, to get the salt and sand from under the seat and the top of the back fender.

Corbin recomends removing their seats before washing the bike.

Leaf blower will dry that sucker out no problemo. I use tin foil to cover the electrical stuff when I wash. Real easy and conforms to the shape of the frame.
