Default Another Rant About "The Wave"

It's 100+ degrees here in the Central Valley of CA yesterday and today, so I decided to take my Ducati round trip about 200 miles, rather than expose my Bob to this excrutiating heat. Additionally, the Duc is a blast to ride, and the she handles much better on these particular roads versus my Bob.

As always, I passed about 4 MFers who think they are too cool to wave. One AHole gave me the evil eye as I waved - my wave turned into the middle finger instead. I was hoping he would turn around - probably better that he didn't. Note that 80% of the bikes I passed gave the wave, but there are always some that are just too "bad" to wave to anything but another HD.

Is it me, or does anyone else out there just get pissed about this? It's about riding and enjoying your machine. Yeah, if there's a moron showing what an idiot rider he is, then don't wave.

I think I'm going to geta big sticker that reads "My Bob is in the garage, so FU for not waving."

I'd especially like to hear from those that refuse the wave. I'll wave to anyone - don't care if they're on a friggin' moped. He probably wants a Harley anyway.

I wave at anybody as well. I do get a little tired of it by the end of the day when it's nice and there are a million bikes, so I won't wave first by then. But I will always wave back to any bike. It's us against the cages!!! I have no Harley ego. I will cruise with my dad and he now rides a Bergman scooter!

Everyone and their brothers aunt is out riding in the warm weather. If I spent the time waving to every bike I passed on the road, my left hand would be off the handlebar more than it is on the handlebar. Wave, Wave, Wave...who needs it anyhow and who really cares.

Another solution would be to kill yourself. Did you really have to add this comment, joking or not You'd never have to worry again about who doesn't wave and why. And we'd never have to suffer through another "waving" thread.

Yeah, I know, I know, I'm the a$$hole who clicked on it..........

If you wave first, I'll always wave back.

It's like a religion.. I only honor 1 supreme bike. I might nod to lesser deities if I'm feeling magnanimous.

I wave at every rider if I see them. They don't always wave back, not a problem, they might be shifting, braking, or concentrating on staying safe. That's more important than the wave. If other bikers wave at me when I'm in that kind of a situation and I can't wave I will nod an acknolwedgement.

Ride Safe

You can say that again! [:@]

A few of you made me think I need to clarify. Yeah, I do take it personal - too long of a discussion to get in to. It's really the guys like the one that saw me wave and showed his Harley ego by only giving me a dirty look. Slow speed as we were passing through a small town. Agree some just don't do it for reasons other than attitude, I'll give you that.
