love to hear your opinons  i think a v rod with 12 in apes and the 240 rear tire and all that horsepower would be bad ass   if anyone can photoshop a v rod with apes that would be great

This is as good a time as any to decide if you're more interested in looks or performance. Vrods are ugly and Big twins are slow, at least in comparison with Vrods and most other motorcycles.Apes are pretty useless on a fast bike the faster you go the less comfortable they are.Don't let me discourage you though you can make a Street Bob faster if you have thousands to throw at it and you can make a Vrod better looking just not as nice as a traditional big twin.

Like Ed said, they're very different machines. Some folks talk bad about the VRSC, but everyone I've talked to that actually rides one really likes it.  I would definitely ride (or at least sit on) each before you plunk down the cash.  I like the styling of the Night rod and Street Rod, but I preferred the feel of my Dyna a little more.

They say it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.  I'm definitely old school on my rides.  Starting riding Harleys in 1953 and while they're (VRods) probably great bikes, they just don't have the HD appeal to me.  Those that I know that have 'em, like 'em.  It's nice to have choices.

apes on V rod completely ruin the point of the power on the bike, turns you into a kite at fast speeds... Sky i dig your buddies bike though i do have to say... but in my opinion you need to decide on looks or power... i am a BIG fan of the V rods, but i will go to clip ons and rear sets with one if i get one...
