05, 88b, carb'd, stock except for vh pipes and rejet on carb., 45k miles
Independent shop said everything is tight so they doubt the noise is rattling lifters.
Various loads and throttle positions.
Sound is just like poorly adjusted chevy valve lash.
Could the MAP sensor be gradually going bad?

Please help before the long weekend.

My carb'd 01 sounded like crickets cricketing for the lack of better terms last year. Installed a new MAP sensor. Sound is gone.

I've had pinging associated with bad gas.  It will happen when rolling on the throttle and sounds like pea gravel pinging off of the frame under the motor.
