My manual says theres a small drain nut under the trans cover. my bike dosent have that (93 fxr ) > But theres a 7/8 nut under the trans case. is that the drain plug? if so do I need to replace washers at each service. - thanks !

Yep, that's the drain. And no, you don't have to change the washer every service BUT - if it's nylon/plastic like mine was, check it closley each time and don't overtighten the plug. Over time and especially if it's been overtightened, it will break and that's no good! If you want, replace it with a copper, fiber or soft aluminum washer. Tighten it about like a spark plug. You know, like one you actually might want to remove one day! ;)
