Took rider edge about 3 weeks ago, got '08 sportster 1200 anny edition delivered same weekend. Riding is going great, I have about 370 miles on it.....decided yesterday that I am done breaking it in(too hard to put miles on it going under 50).

Welcome from KY. I had to ride my new 08 RK 120 miles to home on an interstate (in the rain without rain gear) at 50 or below. Talk about feelin' like a real NERDY Biker

Yea really sucks, talked to guy at dealership and he said they ised to tell people 50 miles. Thats when I decided it was broke in. Anyone think that I am making huge mistake?

Welcome from the High Desert of So. Cal. As long as you don't beat on it you're ok. Try not to hold a constant speed for long periods of time. After 500 miles you can sneak it up to high speeds but drop it back. After 1000 miles then ride it like you stole it. I've always followed this break-in with new bikes/rebuilds and have never been disappointed.
