i was riding home last night and was doing about 20 over... rounded the hill and sure enough a police officer was waitin at the top of the hill, as soon as i crowned the hill his lights came on... now i knew he still had to get out of the lot so i made the turn and pounded on it... well it was like 2am, dark as can be, and i got to the point where i was over riding my headlights, i crowned another hill felt my front tire come off the ground and just said SCREW THIS i am not going to wreck my bike over this... i shut it down and pulled over... he was on me before i shut it down.... got out of his car SCREAMED "where you running"! i lied... and said no i like the sound of the pipes though the hills so i got on it... he just laughed and said... "it does sound nice" he was a real cool guy... let me go, just let me know that he was flashing his headlights to me to tell me there was a group of deer on the other lane of the road... I DID NOT EVEN SEE THEM... he said he took off after me to slow me down... he was a good guy and in all honesty may have saved me from something stupid happening... AHH so not like me... ride safe out there brothers!

I was on my HD doing 50 in a 35 last Wednesday coming back from a parts run to Advance.  This is right in town near a university and sure enough a 5-0 rounded the corner just as soon as my speedo was giving the same number.  I considered darting onto the next subdivision street and weaving my way to freedom.  Instead I slowed down and waited for him to come get me.  He never even turned around.  Glad I didn't rip it through that neighborhood.  All he'd have to do is roll down his window and listen to track me.

HA! Lucky man.. if I would have done that here, I'd be in jail. Lots of cops over here are complete dicks (no offense to you police officers on this board). Every cop thats pulled me over has been nothing but an @sshole to me, and they all looked at me like I have a third eye in my forehead. I don't understand! Ride on though man! Hopefully I'll be ridin' with ya in about a week!

A buddy of mine did that back home in the U.P. of MI.  He came over a hill on his GSXR doing well into triple digits and saw the police car.  He hit the breaks pretty hard, but come on here, 100+ mph...  He thought about pinning the thing, but decided to pull over.  When the cop came up to him, the cop thanked him for pulling over.  The cop said they have a 'no chase' policy on motorcycles.  The cop also said his radar said something like 88mph (in a 55) but saw how far the forks were collapsed and knew the bike was doing well over that.  But gave him a ticket for 64 in a 55....

Joe, let me see if I have this right -

the cop's at a dead stop,
and you nail it hard while rollin past at 90.

You're outrunnin your headlights
jumping the hilltops,

you shut it down cause you're not all that stupid,
and pull it over.

Then you say
"he was on me before i shut it down".

That's amazing.

What was he driving to catch you like that??

A friend and I were raceing and a cop crested the hill going the other way. Usually they brake and decide to keep going in this farm area. We were far from home and not familar with the area and the cop was turning around! We were at the bar for about four hours earlier, not good. So we slowed and took off before he was on us. We came to a intersection my friend started going right and then went left. I figured I would go right that way only one of us would get busted. My way was soon (15 feet) a dirt road with a dead end posted. I thought I was done but, I saw a big red barn in the distance. I will hide on the other side of the barn. I turned into the driveway and saw hundreds of chickens! Blasted up the 1/8 mile driveway and got on the other side of the barn. Dodged, hit and ran over several birds. As the asian grandma and granddaughter watched at the top of the driveway. Told them I was lost and would leave. If looks could kill I would be dead. Rode home quickly. My friend rode threw yards. We meet up at my place and realized what dumb luck was, had alot of that back then. It has been 12 years but, still get a little laugh when I see a chicken farm. There is alot worse things than a hefty ticket.

OK, me being new at this, I'm going to ignore all the safety rules you violated...speeding, dark, outriding headlights, deer you didn't even see...

I'm glad you came out of it without a ticket, or a helicopter ride.

Stay safe!!!

Years ago, one of our supervisors at work  made a run in the rain with his rice burner... like in most places, cops ain't supposed to chase here... anyways... layed it down
in a corner. He came off first, which was lucky, because he stopped short of the guard rail (the metal 'I' beam ones).. His bike got cheese grated. Anyway, cop pulls in, and after
checking to see if he was OK, let him off with just a reckless driving because his bike was so torn up. Cop told em, he would have arrested 'em if the bike was OK... LOL.

Never run... watch you tube insted... they have some good ones, and it wont cost you a thing (or your life).

Joe,
I made that mistake in 1998, I got hauled off to the Hoosegow for about 24 hours.  Judge gave me a chance, but I still had 30 days and two years prob.  Well, i bailed and left for Oregon in 1999.  I heard that that same judge was retiring after 33 years on the bench and he was a good guy.   In January of this year, I had to hire an attorney, fly back, turn myself in and see what he said.  I got lucky, he gave me 100 hours community service to complete by this August and the charge will be reduced to a Misdemeanor (it was a Felony).  He was so impressed with me that he actually shook my hand and ordered the deputy's to release me within the hour.  You can NEVER outrun the radio, no matter what you see on TV.  Those guys live for $h1T like that.  Think about it, if you got a call about someone fleeing, wouldn't you want in on the fun?  Watch YouTube and laugh at those clowns all you want.  It is not worth it and I am speaking from experience!  BTW, I was on a 600 FZR and they still caught me within 2 min.  Oh, and I was 2 blocks from home.....LOL

It's never cool to run from the cops.  It's better to man up and take the ticket than to risk your life and the lives of others on the road (including the cops).

You are lucky that the cop didn't "Rodney King" your sorry rear-end. Or at least, give you a tour of the local grey bar hotel. Some people have all the luck.

our police out here have the new chargers.... all Hemi powered... today when i drove by i realized he did not have to go thought the lot to get out, there is an opening in the fence and a bit of gravel to the road... I am not so much worried about a cop taking a swing at me... they would never do that out here... they just tazer your... and yes it hurts... start of last summer we got in a big fight in a bar parking lot and i was the lucky winner to get zapped! , turned black and blue and left these two burn marks on my sides where they hit me...

and mud: "I was riding home last night and was doing about 20 over"
never said i was doing 90 past him... it was 3am and pitch black i would have over riden my headlight, not to metion it was night on hilly roads... 90 was the reason i stopped, i was doing around 45 in a 25 passing the courntry club.... and yes when i came off of it "shut it down" by the time i was pulled over he was behind me with the cherrys glowing... come on man, if i was going to lie i would at least make it intresting.... like "i was riding and got pulled over by triplet asian cops while doing 200mph"...
