Well...with more than a couple of comments about BBQ mentioned, I thought we could talk Q for a minute.  Does anyone here have any favorite spots to ride their scoots to for great BBQ in their area?

Post pics if ya like, either of your own BBQ or your favorite BBQ joint along with a website if they have one.  Here are a few pics of ribs & brisket I did myself for friends & family (yes, we fanatics take pics & are  as nuts about preparing good Q as we are about our bikes.)  Here are a few sites to check out in New England.  Enjoy!

So far.  We've managed to keep 'em from taxing it out of existence till now.

Beef Brisquet - Rudy's Barbecue, San Antonio, TX

Damn. Now I'm hungry. Moved up too the Portland, Oregon area not too long ago and haven't found any great BBQ places as of yet. Anyone know of any around Oregon City/Gladstone? Vermont and New Hampshire are little far for a lunch ride, but New Mexico....hmmm....

Rudy's is always good for brisket.  It's extremely hard to believe that they are a chain given how freakin' good their Q is. (remember this is coming from the mouth..err.. keyboard of a fat, big eatin' native Texan)

For something really special, you can't beat The Salt Lick outside of Austin.  As a bonus, it also happens to be right in the middle of some of the most beautiful riding country in the state.

Mesquite BBQ in Iraan, TX.  Ride up from the south on 349 from Dryden is great.  In fact, we are heading down that way this weekend.

If Riding up in VA or into Rolling Thunder...Stop off at Three Pigs BBQ in McLean, VA-Langley Shopping Center.

Been there 45+ years and slamming BBQ Platter (Jumbo Pork/Beef Sandwich, Killer Slaw and Beans)... Restrooms are in the back.

Great Place!!!

They opened up a Rudy's here in Norman.  The sauce is not bad but the dog ended up with the BBQ.  To each their own I guess.

Ha, I wish they knew about grits around here.  As a transplanted Southerner, I do the best I can to show some of my born & bred Yankee friends that real Q does not mean boiling your ribs grey, burning them on the propane grill & pouring ketchup on 'em.

Just kiddin'...  There's actually a lot of folk around here who know their stuff.  Still, there's not a joint around that has a clue about grits.

My vote for the the best BBQ ever is Coopers in Llano, TX.  http://www.coopersbbq.com/
There are some great rides through some beautiful country to get out there.  I love the different styles of Q around the country but hands down this is my favorite.

Everyone one of you who posted on this thread is blessed by living near some good bbq joints. Up here people think bbq is what they got in the backyard to cook on. Seven months of cold weather puts a big dent in ridin, and eating good bbq. It's eight in the a.m. and now I can't get bbq out of my mind. Thanks, thanks alot.

Well,

If you go to Coopers, ya gotta try the Cabrito.....it's hard to find good pieces because they go quick....but sometimes ya get lucky....you used to have to get there around 11:00 for lunch because they always ran out but now I think they are cooking more, especially on the weekends.........still my favorite place (and damn expensive)

Wilson's BBQ in Tulsa is pretty good.  I'll have to try Elmers.  Billy Sims BBQ in Broken Arrow is also pretty good.  I like their baked beans the best.  Of course, Knotty Pine has been around forever, and they're good.

But the absolute best used to be a little old black guy that had a small shack for a joint on Highway 51 down near 101st near Coweta.  That was years ago, but man, he had the best ribs I'd ever tasted.  I heard he moved on into Coweta, but have never been able to find him.

Riding to the Syracuse Dinosaur is probably more enjoyable and the ribs are outstanding too, and the music is blues.

I can't believe there have been 31 posts to a BBQ thread and it hasn't gotten nasty yet.
The intra-state sauce disagreements in North Carolina haven't even erupted.
Everybody must have taken their meds this morning.

You poor poor northeasterners, Famous Dave's is the Mickey D's of BBQ.

If you've ever been to Ames, IA you've most likely been to Hickory Park, good ribs, but for overall BBQ go to Battle's. Harder to find but worth it.
