Is there a way I can adjust my idle on my 08 NT?  Would like to drop it down a few hundred rpm.  Currently have PC III installed, but I believe thats a fuel mgt system for mixture ratios?  Thanks....

I had the same problem with the PC111, sometimes it was idling ok, sometimes it would just start idling to fast...one of the tech guys at harley sorted it for me...

do not reduce idle speed. It has to be where it is for correct oil pressure !!!!!

When using the PCIII, you MUST zero out the throttle setting after installation. If not, it will be at about 7% throttle when bike is at idle. I had to complete the process on my '07. There are instructions on how to do it in this forum, just do a search. The idle should be between 950-1050 RPM's. I would check the RPM's first through the PCIII on a laptop. Hope that helps.

Yeah, this has been around before...lot of people scream bloody murder if anyone talks about going below 1000 rpm...but bottom line is that the service manual recommends 900-1100 rpm on softtails, so a lot of the bikes out there are probably at 900 anyway...my dealer will take it down to 850 if you want...and no, 50 rpm below factory specs isn't going to damage anything...

I would keep it @ factory specs. I think the people at harley know this better than we do. People want to mess around sometimes, and do not know what they are doing and can cause engine damage. These topics should be posted in the Tech section. IMO.

voyager, I think everytime this topic comes up, you and I are in on it...lol...and I'm still of the school that if we all left everything to factory specs,we'd all be riding bone stock Harleys...clearly, we're all not, and clearly, we're not all damaging our engines...

I was looking at your profile, and by your zip, we must be next to each others back yard...maybe we oughta take a ride, get a cup of coffee, and solve all these things...
