Don't have a Fatbob but a Superglide. Replaced the oem with a Metzler 880 with mixed reviews. Heard it is a good long mileage tire (and it probably is) but with it being a harder compound it feels like when leaning into a corner it doesn't feel real stable. Kinda wiggles around a bit. Just my .02.

Its the front tyre I'm really interested in since its not been fit to a Harley before - and according to the sales blurb been specifically desgined for the FXDF.

Then why did you ask in general terms?  Why don't you start by giving specifics on the tire you have in mind?

I've had my FXDC for 18 months and my front tire is in great shape still.  I'm not sure you'll find too many FXDF owners that have worn out the fronts yet.

You can't simply "stick" one on any of them.  Need a new rim and some other mods to get it to fit.  There are some threads out there that discuss how to do it though.

That's what I meant, I know it requires the wider rim. I just think it'd look better with the bigger tire...one of the few things I think a stock Softail has on a Dyna is the 200mm tire.

The dynas have a few things over the softies too - handling, etc.  The 200 looks good on the back of the dynas but I've seen it written that you also crossover into some handling issues when you go that wide as well.  Mine handles just as well or better with the 180 over the 160.  Not sure if it's the tire or just new rubber over old but I can lean her over as far as I care to now with no wobbling whatsoever.  In my opinion, the visual impact of the 180 from the 160 is far greater than that of the 180 to the 200.  With that said, I'm sure going from 160 to 200 is just as impressive.

Sorry I thought I did.

The reason I ask is cos of the unusual size on the front of the Fat Bob and I thought with the weather over there someone would have done the mileage to wear out a pair. I'm used to running a GSX1400 and they are usually done for in 7-8000 miles.

Again I apologize - just trying to get an idea of what replacements may have been brought to the market we may not have heard about over in the UK yet.

No need to apologize Dodzi.

Your query was fine.

I don't have tire info for the Fat Dynas,
someone will probably answer you. Maybe.
